Our key leaders
In anticipation of our future growth in Glasgow, we have complemented the existing local Leadership team with new hires from across the industry. Our aim is to attract and retain 'A-players' in the market and this philosophy is consisent across all levels of our organisation. Here are some short biographies of our Key Local Leaders.
OPERATIONS – Ramsay Urquhart
Ramsay
joined Barclays Wealth in September 2006 from the ING Group where he
spent 14 years in a number of roles in Finance and Operations for the
Investment Banking and Financial Markets businesses, working in Hong
Kong, Singapore, Amsterdam and Brussels. Prior to ING, he worked in the
accountancy profession in London, New York and Aberdeen.
STOCKBROKERS – Rupert Dickinson
As
Chief Operating Officer, Rupert is responsible for the commercial
expansion of Barclays Stockbrokers and the strategy and planning of the
Direct business. Rupert joined Barclays in October 2000 from Deloitte
& Touche, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst
working in the financial services sector of the Audit Practice.
UK PRIVATE BANK – Mark Little
As
Regional Director, Mark oversees Barclays Wealth in Scotland and leads
a team of more than 100 people. Mark has more than 14 years experience
in fund management and stockbroking. Before joining Barclays Wealth,
Mark was Head of Global Autos Research at Deutsche Bank, where his team
consistently ranked top three in all major surveys (European II, Global
11 and Extel Greenwich).
TECHNOLOGY – Malcolm Macallan
Malcolm
first joined Barclays as part of BZW where he became Head of IT for the
Equities Division. He joined Barclays Stockbrokers as IT Director in
1994 and now leads the Build Services team within Barclays Wealth
Technology. Born and bred in Glasgow, he studied for an MA at Edinburgh
University, and completed a Diploma in Business Administration at the
Scottish Business School.
OPERATIONS – Fiona Elbourne
Fiona
joined us from Global Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley International
where she was an Executive Director. She is responsible for managing
the Operations team across our Glasgow sites and is playing a key role
in the development of our infrastructure hub as we go through
significant expansion.
HR – Jacinta Stewart
Jacinta
joined Barclays in June 2007 after 15 years HR experience within
various blue chip companies and across sectors including Financial
Services. As Head of HR Glasgow, Jacinta’s focus is on providing
leadership and direction to the HR team and developing a Wealth HR
people agenda that can be consistently applied across our Glasgow and
Edinburgh offices.
CHANGE – Kevin Hind
Kevin
joined Barclays Wealth in 2007, a move which brought him ‘back home’.
After graduating from Aberdeen University, he went on to complete his
PhD in Linguistics and lecture at Edinburgh University. He then joined
Deutsche Bank in 2003 via a period of Management Consulting at KPMG and
PwC. Previously based in London, Kevin ran a number of large scale
change programmes across Finance, Operations and Technology at Deutsche
Bank before joining Barclays Wealth.
CRES – Graeme Bishop
Graeme
started his working life in the RAF Police where he served for 6 years.
On leaving the RAF he returned to further education, graduating in 1997
in Law (Hons). A fascination with buildings and architecture attracted
Graeme to the world of Facilities Management. Before joining Barclays
in 2005 he was employed in London with JPMorgan (1999 – 2005) and
Fullers Independent Brewers (1997 – 1999).
