Executives

Our Private Banking Executive (PBE) programme represents the opportunity to take the first step in to a career within Wealth Management, through a specialised training programme designed specifically for individuals fresh to the world of Wealth Management.

Our private banking operation focuses on areas ranging from cash management to providing bespoke structured products. In particular, our vision of private banking goes far beyond simply providing deposit accounts or loan services.

Barclays Wealth sees the role of the Private Banker as being a ‘wealth coach’ helping our clients realise their financial ambition whilst managing their risk at the same time.

The role of Private Banking Executives is to support the Private Bankers by assisting in acquiring, servicing and retaining clients to deliver overall business goals. They are also the main contact for the client for day-to-day matters.

Key responsibilities for a PBE include:

  • Building and monitoring a relationship with the clients, working alongside the Private Banker to ensure quality service is provided at all times and proactively managing the portfolio of clients. Acting as main point of contact for a portfolio of clients dealing with day-to-day administration across the range of services and products.

  • Acting as liaison between Private Banker and specialist product areas, e.g. Investment Management, Credit, Fiduciary, etc. to ensure the smooth operation of all services.

  • Providing general support to Private Bankers on ad-hoc issues as required e.g. researching background details on clients and potential clients, and full accountability for processing documents and ensuring the due diligence is satisfactory.

  • Addressing and solving clients' administration enquiries in order to provide high quality personalised service.

  • Performing daily operations and transactions on clients' accounts.

  • Assisting Private Bankers in administration and management of client relationships, including attending meetings (to observe/take notes), preparation of file notes, drafting of letters and other documentation, annual client reviews, etc.
